[USA] THE WESLEYAN FREEMAN ASIAN SCHOLARS PROGRAM 2006-2007

The Wesleyan Freeman Asian Scholarship Program provides expenses for a four-year course of study toward a bachelor’s degree for up to twenty-two exceptionally able Asian students annually from these countries and regions: the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
  • Applications must be postmarked by January 1, 2007.
  • Students are advised to register now for SAT and TOEFL or IELTS.
  • Notification by April 1, 2007.
  • Japan notification by March 1, 2007.
Wesleyan is now accepting applications for participation in the Wesleyan Freeman Asian Scholarship Program. The chosen applicants will join 2,700 other Wesleyan undergraduates from throughout the United States and nearly 50 countries for study with an outstanding teaching and research faculty in the sciences and mathematics, the arts, the humanities, and the social and behavioral sciences.

[AUSTRALIA] AUSTRALIAN LEADERSHIP AWARDS 2007

Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) is a new award under which the Australian Government offers scholarships and fellowships for current and future leaders from the Asia-Pacific Region. Australian Leadership Awards provide exceptional educational opportunities in Australia. They are awarded to people who are already leaders or have a potential to assume leadership roles that can influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes, both in their own countries and in the Asia and Pacific region. Australian Leadership Awards provide scholarships for longer-term post-graduate study at masters or doctoral level and fellowships for short-term research, study or professional attachments. They will bring around 3200 scholars and fellows in the five years from 2006-2011 to study in Australia

[AUSTRALIA] CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY-AUSAID SCHOLARSHIPS

Carnegie Mellon University-AusAID Scholarships are funded by the Australian Government to support a limited number of students from countries where Australia has a bilateral aid program, to study at the university`s Heinz School in Adelaide, Australia. Scholarships are awarded to students undertaking either the Master of Science in Public Policy and Management (MSPPM) or the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT). Both programs are full-time and one-year in duration.

Scholarship benefits include full tuition, return economy airfares, a contribution to living expenses, and basic medical insurance. Applicants must satisfy both AusAID`s general eligibility criteria and the specific criteria established for their country of citizenship.

[GERMANY] ERNST SCHERING FOUNDATION DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

Biologists, chemists, medical doctors as well as students of specific interdisciplinary studies (e. g. biochemistry, bioinformatics), who completed their studies with outstanding results no more than two years before the time of application and who are not older than 28 years of age. The Ph. D. thesis should not have been started at the time of the application.

Project subject matter
Support will be given for doctorates that will deal with subjects of basic scientific research in the spheres of biology, medicine and organic chemistry (as well as all areas where they interface). Projects from the sectors of botany and dentistry are not being sponsored, nor are any projects that have the goal of carrying out clinical studies.
